Privacy

What your kids do stays in your house.

KidsProxy filters inside your home. Your kids' browsing never leaves your network — we never see it. This page spells out exactly what that means, where the exceptions are, and what rights you have under US privacy laws.

The short answer

Runs in your house

Filtering happens on the box in your network. Not in a cloud.

No telemetry

Your KidsProxy installation sends us no usage data, not even anonymous data.

Stored encrypted

Whatever does reach us — only with Premium — is stored encrypted.

Hosted in the United States

Premium data lives in US data centers, not with ad platforms.

At home: the box

KidsProxy is not a service you share with others — it is a device you own, sitting in your own network. Every request your kids make is checked there and decided there.

We receive nothing. No visited sites, no timestamps, no device lists, no telemetry, no crash reports. Without Premium, your box only talks to the filter lists it updates from.

This is not a promise that depends on us behaving well — it follows from how the thing is built. Where nothing is sent, there is nothing to store. The source is open; check it yourself.

With Premium: our infrastructure

KidsProxy Premium extends your local install with features that reach beyond your home network. For rules to hold when a device leaves the house, part of that has to run through our infrastructure. This applies only while a Premium subscription is active.

What gets processed

  • Your settings — rules, schedules, devices — so they apply on devices outside your network
  • Account details for the subscription: name, email address, billing address and payment status (card numbers are handled by our payment processor and never stored by us)
  • Anything you deliberately put into cloud storage

Everything is stored encrypted in our infrastructure, and processing takes place in the United States, in data centers operated by our affiliates. There is no personalized analysis — we build no profiles from this data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.

We keep account data for as long as your account exists and for up to 90 days after you close it, unless a longer period is required for tax or legal reasons. Settings and cloud backups are deleted when the subscription ends and you have not exported them within 30 days.

On this website

Two things get confused here, so let us separate them. There are no trackers in the product. There are trackers on our marketing website — to see which content gets read and which ad brought someone here.

MeasuredThis marketing website: home, product pages, blog posts, downloads, and this privacy page.

The services we use

Only after you agree in the cookie banner or if you have not opted out, as described under "Do Not Sell or Share":

  • Google AnalyticsAudience measurement
  • Google AdsCampaign measurement
  • Microsoft AdvertisingCampaign measurement
  • Meta AdsCampaign measurement

These providers process data in the United States. This affects only the marketing website — not your box, and not your Premium data.

Cookies

On your first visit, the cookie banner asks what may be set. You can rule out individual cookies or whole categories. Until you choose, only what is technically necessary runs.

  • Necessary — keeps your session and your choices. Cannot be turned off.
  • Convenience — remembers language and region. Optional.
  • Statistics — Google Analytics 4. Optional.
  • Marketing — Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Meta Pixel. Optional.

Your choice applies across everything KidsProxy, not just the page where you made it. It is recorded in a technical cookie and can be reviewed or changed at any time. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser: if it is on, statistics and marketing cookies stay off.

Children's privacy

KidsProxy is built to protect children, not to collect data from them. Accounts may only be created by adults. Children use devices that are protected by the box; they do not log in, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 — or from anyone under 18 — through the product or this website. Usage reports about a child's devices are generated on your box and shown only to you; they are never transmitted to us.

Where a Premium feature syncs rules to a child's device, the data that leaves your home is your configuration, not the child's activity. If you believe a child has provided us personal information directly, email legal@kidsproxy.com and we will delete it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy of it, to opt out of targeted advertising or the "sale" or "sharing" of your information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We extend these rights to every US customer, whatever state you live in.

The fastest route is our data request form. So nobody else can obtain your data, it asks for proof of the email address on your account. You may also authorize an agent to act for you; we will ask for written permission and verify your identity. We respond within 45 days and tell you if we need longer. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our response; we will explain the outcome of the appeal in writing.

Notice to California residents

In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information, from you directly, from your devices when you visit this website, and from our payment and advertising partners:

  • Identifiers — name, email address, postal address, account ID, IP address.
  • Commercial information — orders, subscription status, support history.
  • Internet activity — pages visited on this marketing website and the ad that brought you here, if you allowed those cookies.
  • Approximate location — derived from your IP address or the region you select.

We use this information to provide and bill the service, to answer support requests, to measure this website and our advertising, to prevent fraud and to comply with the law. We disclose it to service providers who process it for us (payment processing, email delivery, hosting, shipping) and, for advertising cookies only, to the ad platforms named above. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law, and we do not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those listed here. We have no actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Under California's "Shine the Light" law you may request a list of third parties to whom we disclosed personal information for their own direct marketing; we do not do this.

Residents of other states

If you live in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the rights described above, including the right to appeal a denied request. Use the same form.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We never sell personal information for money. Under California and some other state laws, allowing advertising cookies to send data to Google, Microsoft or Meta counts as "sharing" or "selling." You can turn this off at any time:

  • open the cookie settings and switch off Statistics and Marketing, or
  • turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser — we honor the signal automatically.

Your choice is stored in a cookie and applies across everything KidsProxy. Nothing in the product itself is ever sold or shared, because nothing in the product is sent to us in the first place.

Security and changes

We protect account data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and regular review. No method is perfectly secure, and we will notify you as required by law if a breach affects your data. If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email account holders and update the date at the top of this page.
